St. Joseph
Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interest and desires.

Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls - Pray for me.

This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505 it was sent from the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever shal read this prayer or hear it or keep it about themselves, shall never die a sudden death, or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them ; neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy; or shall be burned in any fire or shall be overpowered in battle.

Say for nine mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so be sure you really want what you ask.

The Fifteen Secret Tortures and Sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ

(Revealed to the pious, God-loving Sister Mary Magdalene of the Saint Clara Order, Franciscan, who lived, died and was beatified in Rome).

Jesus filled the wish of this Sister who desired ardently to know something about the secret sufferings which He endured the night before His death. (This devotion is approved and recommended by His Holiness Clement II, 1730-1740).

"The Jews considered Me as the most wretched man living on earth so that is why:

(1) They fastened My feet with a rope and dragged Me over the stepping stones of the staircase, down into a filthy, nauseating cellar.

(2) They took off My clothing and stung My body with iron joints.

(3) They attached a rope around My body and pulled Me along on the ground, from end to end.

(4) They hanged Me ona wooden piece with a slipknot until I slipped out and fell down. Overwhelmed by this torture, I wept bloody tears.

(5) They tied Me to a post and pierced My body with various arms.

(6) They struck Me with stones and burnt Me with blazing embers and torches.

(7) They pierced Me with awls: sharp spears tore My skin, flesh and arteries out of My body.

(8)They tied me to a post and made Me stand, barefoot, on an incandescent metal-sheet.

(9) They crowned Me with an Iron crown and wrapped My eyes with the dirtiest possible rags.

(10) They made Me sit on a chair covered with sharp pointed nails, causing deep wounds in My body.

(11) They poured on My wounds liquid lead and resin and after this torture, they pressed Me on the nailed chair, so that the nails went deeper and deeper into My flesh.

(12) For shame and affliction, they drove needles into the holes of My uprooted beard. Then they tied My hands behind my back and led Me walking out of prison with strikes and blows.

(13) They threw Me upon a cross and attached me so tightly that I could hardly breathe anymore.

(14) They threw at My head as I lay on the earth, and they stepped on Me, hurting My breast. Then taking a thorn from My crown they drove it into My tongue.

(15) They poured into my mouth the most immodest excretions, as they uttered the most infamous expressions about Me.

Then Jesus added:

"My daughter, I desire that you let everyone know these FIFTEEN SECRET TOTIRES. In order that everyone of them be honored."

"Anyone who daily offers Me, with love, on of these sufferings and says with fervor the following prayer, will be rewarded with eternal glory on the day of judgment."

PRAYER

"My Lord and My God, it is my unchangeable will to honor You in these FIFTEEN SECRET TORMENTS when you shed Your Precious Blood. As many times as there are grains of sand around the seas, as grains of wheat in the fields, as blades of grass in the meadows, as fruit in the orchards, as leaves on the trees, as flowers in the garden, as stars in the sky, as angels in Heaven, as creatures on earth. So many thousands of times may You be glorified, praised and honored.

O most love-worthy Lord Jesus Christ, Your Holiest Heart, Your Precious Blood, Your Divine Sacrifice for mankind, the Holiest Sacrament of the Altar, the Most Holy Virgin Mary, the nine glorious choirs of Angels and the Blessed Phalanx of the Saints, from myself and everyone, now and forever, and in the eternal ages.

In the like manner, I desire My dear Jesus, to give you thanksgiving, to serve you, to repair and atone for all ignominies, and to offer You my soul and body as Your Possessions forever.

Likewise, I regret all my sins and beg Your pardon, O my Lord and my God. And I offer You all the merits of Jesus Christ to repair everything to obtain a happy dying hour and the deliverance of the souls from Purgatory. "This prayer I desire to renew at each hour, until my death.

O lovable Jesus, Sweet Saviour, fortify my resolution and permit not that neither wretched men nor Satan destroy it. Amen."

When we truly reflect on the sufferings that our Lord Jesus Christ has endured for us, we will deeply understand God's immeasurable love for us, His children. May we take the time to meditate on Christ's sufferings, and offer the prayer each day.

Let us offer our own joys, pains, works, and sufferings to God, through Jesus Christ and through the intercession of Mother Mary, for the intention of the Holy Church, for our good, for the good of others, for world peace, for the conversion of sinners and non-believers, and for the poor souls in purgatory.

Unburdening Your Heart

Dear Friends,

Do you sometimes feel trapped in your own problems? Or perhaps unable to forgive yourself for some of the things you've done or choices you've made in the past?

In the last post, I wrote about the value of forgiving and forgiveness. Here, I wish to share with you something that my confessor has told me, which I hope would also help you in your prayer life and free you from the feelings that bind you and prevent you from being your best.

Two weeks ago, our daughter had her first Reconciliation together with other 2nd graders in our Parish. It was a wonderful experience for her, for our family, and in fact for the entire faith community.

We all sensed the excitement in the children's faces as they were getting ready for their "one-on-ones" with the priests. And we all witnessed the inner glow radiating through their faces as they each completed their individual confessions.

The adults too were invited to the Holy Reconciliation. And I welcomed the opportunity as I've learned that Reconciliation is a gift from God, and one that we should take full advantage of.

Indeed, it is a gift...and a truly special one! After I've confessed my sins, I felt a tremendous weight lifted from my chest...and my mind suddenly cleared out.

It was one of the most amazing things that happened to me recently. I completely felt the love of God and could almost hear Him say, "My dear child, everything will be okay. I am your Father, who loves you dearly."

So you may be wondering, what transpired during my one-on-one with the priest, Fr. Paul. I know a lot of people would rather keep the discussions confidential (it ought to be, right?)...but in this case, I wish to share the Fr. Paul's comments to you.

Here's what he said:

"I know that it's hard to forgive oneself -- just as it's difficult for us to forgive others. So ask God to change you. Pray to Him. All you need is 4-5 minutes of alone time with Him. Tell Him what's in your heart. Unburden yourself to Him."

Fr. Paul is a man of few words...but his words were powerful. He zeroed in on what was matters the most, and what he said pretty much covered everything I needed to hear. .

Please take some time to read his words again. I know that whenever I think about Fr. Paul's words, they answer a lot of my own questions and problems.

"So ask God to change you." We all are humans. We make mistakes. We sin. So when we find it hard to forgive ourselves or to change ourselves, we should turn to our Almighty Father. And ask Him to change us.

Isn't that easy? Wow! I honestly never thought of that! I've always tried to do things myself and to even 'change myself.' The process has always been long and ardous. But apparently, there is a better way. And that is seeking God's help in changing us. As in everything else, this 'better way' enables us to humble ourselves before God, set aside our egos, admit our limitations and welcome His healing power into our lives.

"Pray to Him. All you need is 4-5 minutes of alone time with Him. Tell Him what's in your heart." Again, Fr. Paul offers a simple formula for connecting with God. God wants us to be honest with Him. Of course, He knows what's in our heart. But when we acknowledge and surrender our own problems, hurts, sufferings to God, we begin the healing process and we make room for Him to perform His miracles in our lives.

"Unburden yourself to Him." Indeed, God said "Come to me all of you who are tired of carrying heavy load, for my burden is light."

God offers a simple solution to our problems. Give them up! Give them all up to Him. Offer them all to Him and allow Him to touch us and help us with our problems.

No, this is not a cop out! It's an invitation from God. He wants us to come to Him, to be closer to Him - our very own Father - who will soothe us, comfort us and provide for our needs.

When I find myself trying to complicate things by worrying or feeling guilty, I try to recall Fr. Paul's words. This way, I'm able to sleep soundly at night and not long after I pray with the full force of my emotions...I begin to experience God's miracles in my life.

So, back to my questions. Do you sometimes feel trapped in your own problems? Or perhaps unable to forgive yourself for some of things you've done or choices you've made in the past?

Our God is a merciful and loving God. He's always watching over you and waiting for you to take notice and to take His gifts.

What does Lent mean to you?

While it's been quite some time since we last posted on this blog, we thank you for continuing to pray with us and for all the petitions in this blog.

We hope that somehow the prayers here help you in your daily life and your specific problems. If there is any specific prayer you're looking for that is not here, please let us know and we'd be happy to publish them for you. Just contact us through the comments form below.

For the past several weeks, I've been contemplating on the meaning of Lent. I've been praying. I've been meditating.

I've been wanting to ask...what does Lent mean to you?

I really want to know.

This morning, I felt the urge to come back to this blog and share with you my thoughts about the Lenten season...

As Christians, we've all observed the Lenten season and celebrated Easter. Some observe the season more faithfully than others.

As a child, I cried a lot during the Lenten season. I cried for Jesus Christ. I pitied Him hanging on the cross. I cried on Good Fridays, while witnessing re-enactments of Jesus' death. I tried to feel the pain that He felt. But I knew my little heart couldn't fully comprehend the depth of His suffering and His love for us.

While growing up, I have observed what I call the "highlights" of the season -- Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, and the Holy Week leading to Easter Sunday. I can honestly say that I've observed them religiously year after year.

In fact, at some points in my life, I've gotten deeply involved, or should I say 'fully immersed' in the spirit of the season. My Mother has always had and continues to have a strong (positive) influence in me.

She would always tell us to abstain from meat (and fun snacks) every Fridays, especially Good Friday, and give up TV, sports and other fun activities.

In my teenaged years, I would join my Mom on a number of special Lenten activities - such as joining her in a procession that goes around the town for a couple of hours.

We would walk several miles while continuously praying the Holy Rosary and singing Ave Maria songs. The procession displayed life-size figurines depicting scenes during Christ's suffering - including the Last Supper, the Carrying of the Cross, and Jesus in the Holy Sepulchre. The houses along the path of the procession had candles lit by the gates. People watched and prayed with us.

On Good Fridays, instead of praying the Stations of the Cross in one church my Mom and I, together with our Sacred Heart prayer group, would visit 14 churches where we prayed one station per church. At the end of the trip, we settle down in our Sacred Heart Chapel and pray the Holy Rosary 3 times.

On Good Saturdays, we held prayer vigils all day long that lasted until the following day - Easter Sunday - the day of the Resurrection. And on this day, we heard the Easter Mass, we celebrated and feasted!

It was all good. The whole Lenten experience always has some kind of cathartic effect on me. My Mom would always say that "Jesus Christ has suffered and died for us. We must make sacrifices for the forgiveness of our sins."

Yes, as a child I did cry for Jesus. And I made the sacrifices, which I prayed would be worthy of Jesus' attention, and which I hoped would help "lighten" Jesus' load.

At that time, the whole essence of Lent for me boiled down to: "If I sin less and other people sin less then Jesus wouldn't have to suffer as much. Jesus' cross was made heavier by the weight of our sins. We could all do our fair share in lightening Jesus' load, by sinning less."

But as I grew older, I begin to realize while it is right to aim to sin less, I am certainly not "saving" Jesus, by doing so. The entire goal isn't about lightening Jesus' load.

Jesus already died. And He died for us. He died to save us.

Jesus doesn't need to be saved. But we do.

I should be crying not for Jesus...but for my sins, and for the sins of the world.

I knew deep in my heart that the tears I cried for Jesus as a child were tears of love...but I now, more than ever, I realize that it should not stop there.

The love that I feel for Him should translate to something tangible. It should lead me into "forgiving" and "asking for forgiveness."

I must forgive those who have offended me and hurt me...

I must ask forgiveness for my sins, for having offended God and my neighbors...

I must forgive myself.

This Lenten season, we are reminded to "forgive" and to "ask forgiveness" so that, just like Christ, we may be reunited with God our Father.

We need to to forgive others so we can "lighten our load," and we need to "unburden our hearts" and ask forgiveness for ous sins so that we may become closer to our God.

God's message this Lenten season is all about us - His love for us.

And today, a simple concept came to mind and that concept is about "Cleansing."

We all know the value of proper 'cleansing' in restoring our health.

The way cleansing (through juicing, proper diet, etc.) rids our bodies of toxins, forgiving and seeking God's mercy rid our souls of sins and impurities that keep us away from our God.

"To err is human. To forgive divine."

Lent indeed is a beautiful season. It provides us with that wonderful opportunity to go through a "cleansing" process.

The scriptures remind us of what Jesus has given up - His very own life - in order to save us. And on his cross, Jesus uttered the words: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

Lent allows us to look deep into our hearts...to realize to our human-ness, to admit to our sins, and to ask for forgiveness. At the same time, it reminds us of our divinity. As children of God, we must do as Our Father does and follow the example set by Jesus.

We must forgive.

We must forgive so that our sins too may be forgiven.

Am not sure I'm making sense to you.

Perhaps, you already knew this. I thought I did, too.

But things have become so much clearer to me with this simple concept: Cleansing.

Yes, cleansing is a simple concept, yet one that is critical to restoring our health. We give up some of the food we love (like chocolates, steak, etc.) in order to restore the natural balance in our system and allow our bodies to function better.

Forgiveness, just like cleansing, is an important key to "restoring" our life and reuniting us with God. God loves us so much that He is always willing to forgive our sins and to welcome us with open arms into His Kingdom.

All the fasting and abstinence, alms, and confessions that we're asked to do as Christians all make better sense to me now.

All these truly are such a small price for what we stand to gain -- our eternal salvation or eternal union with our Loving God.

May you find peace in your hearts and minds this Lenten season and beyond.

A True Letter of Jesus Christ

A TRUE LETTER OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST
Consecrating the Drops of Blood which
Our Lord lost on His way to Calvary.

Copy of a letter of the Oration found in the Holy Sepulcher of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, preserved in a silver box by His Holiness and by the Emperors and Empresses of the Christian Faith.

St. Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary, with St. Matilda and St. Bridget, wishing to know something of the Passion of Jesus Christ, offered fervent and special prayers, upon which there appeared to them Our Lord Jesus Christ Who spoke to them in the following manner:

I descended from Heaven to the Earth in order to convert you. In olden times people were religious and their harvests were abundant; at present, on the contrary, they are scanty.

If you want to reap an abundant harvest you must not work on Sunday, for on Sunday you must go to Church, and pray to God to forgive your sins. He gave you six days in which to work and one for rest and devotion and to tender your help to the poor and assist the Church.

Those people who brawl against My religion and cast slurs on this Sacred Letter, shall be forsaken by Me.

On the contrary, those people who shall carry a copy of this letter with them shall be free of death by drowning and from sudden death. They shall be free from all contagious diseases and lightning; they shall not die without Confession, and shall be free from their enemies and from the hand of wrongful authority, and from all their slanderers and false witnesses.

Women in peril at child-birth will, by keeping this Oration about them. immediately overcome the difficulty. In the houses where this Oration is kept, no evil thing will ever happen: and forty days before the death of a person who has this Oration about him or her, the Blessed Virgin will appear to him or her. So said St. Gregorius.

TO ALL THOSE FAITHFUL WHO SHALL RECITE FOR 3 YEARS, EACH DAY, 2 PATERS, GLORIAS AND AVES IN HONOR OF THE DROPS OF BLOOD I LOST, I WILL CONCEDE THE FOLLOWING 5 GRACES:

1. The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins.
2. You will be free from the pains of Purgatory.
3. If you should die before completing the said 3
years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.
4. It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith.
5. I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation.

Be it known that the number of armed soldiers were 150; those who trailed me while I was bound were 23. The executioners of justice were 83; the blows received on my head were 150; those on my stomach, 108; kicks on my shoulders, 80. I was led, bound with cords by the hair, 24 times; spits in the face were 180; I was beaten on the body 6666 times; beaten on the head 110 times; I was roughly pushed, and at 12 o' clock I was lifted up by the hair; pricked with thorns and pulled by the beard 23 times; received 20 wounds on the head; thorns of marine junks, 72; pricks of thorns in the head, 110; mortal thorns in the forehead, 3. I was afterwards flogged and dressed as a mocked king; wounds in the body, 1000. The soldiers who led Me to the Calvary were 608; those who watched Me were 3, and those who mocked Me were 1008; the drops of blood which I lost were 28,430.

MIRACLES ACCOMPLISHED BY THE SACRED LETTER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

A second and similar copy of this Letter has been found in a place called "Pursit," three leagues from Marseilles, written in golden letters, and believed to be of supernatural origin. It was found by a boy 7 years old of the same town. With it is an appendix and declaration of the 2nd of January, 1750, which says: "All those who work on Sunday, will be cursed by me, for on the Sacred day you must rest, go to Church, attend all Divine Services, so that you and your generation will be blessed.

If on the contrary you do not believe this you will be chastised, and to your children I will send pest, famine, war, spasms and heartaches; to show you My anger, you will see signs in the sky, thunders and earthquakes.

Those who do not believe that this letter is written by Divine workmanship and dictated by the Sacred Mouth of Christ, and who will keep it hidden from other persons, will be cursed by God and condemned on the Day of Judgment. To those who will publish it, if they have many sins and are truly repentant for having offended Me, even though they have done some injury to their neighbors, when they ask pardon I will cancel their sins. Those who will copy this, or read it, or who will induce others to read it, will be free from all temptations."

A certain Spanish Captain traveling by land near Barcelona, saw a head severed from the body, which spoke to him as follows, "As you are bound for Barcelona, my good man, for God's sake send hither a Priest so that I may confess myself. It is already three days now that I have been attacked by robbers, and I cannot die without first confessing myself." The Captain brought the Confessor to the place; the living head confessed and then expired. On the body from which the head had been severed, the present Oration was found. On that occasion it was approved by several Tribunals of the Holy Inquisition and by the Queen of Spain. The said Paters, Glorias and Aves can be recited for the benefit of any soul.

At the time of the terrible earthquake in Northern Italy and in France, a girl from Nice named Nathaline was caught under a fallen house and remained 3 days buried alive. When unearthed, a copy of this Letter was found on her! She was illiterate and uneducated. When found she was sleeping, untouched by the devastation of the earthquake!

On March 12, 1821, many emigrants from S. Giovanni Incarico, in the Province of Caserta (Italy) sailed for America to look for work. During the trip they were caught in a most terrible storm, which threw their ship into collision with a warship. This caused it to sink. The event occurred on the 19th, St. Joseph's Day. Out of the 667 people on board, only 9 were saved. Everyone of them had a copy of this Letter of Christ in his possession. The survivors were found almost naked, wearing only their vests, in the pockets of which the Letters were found, dry and not even wrinkled!

Two of the survivors from the same town, named Luigi Ceccaccio and Francesco Nero, furnished ample and substantial proof of the miraculous event.

Another miracle of the Sacred Letter of Jesus Christ was revealed at the Island of Iri, also in Italy. A man was peacefully sleeping in his bed, when a mysterious hand shook him abruptly and a voice thundered: "Get up in haste, and save yourself, in a corner of the house!" Promptly complying with the divine warning, the man rose and reached, pale and trembling, a remote corner, just in time to see the floor whereon he had lain in bed, sink into a deep abyss. This Letter saved him.

Another miracle was accomplished by the "Mater Dolorosa" three miles from the town of Castelpetrosa, in the Province of Campobasso, Italy. A 13 year old shepherdess, named Maria Grazia Estassia Bibiana, was attending to her duties in the vicinity of an old Convent. Suddenly appeared to her, and to her astonished mother who was nearby, the Virgin Mater Dolorosa, who told them: "Come with me to this old Church, wherein My Son is vexed with the people of the world, as there are too many sins committed, vice is rampant everywhere; religion is neglected. Therefore destructive earthquakes, pestilence and famine are putting humanity to severe punishment. Go to Church and receive your Holy Communion at least once a year. Thus, He will pardon your sins." Then the Virgin disappeared.

Another miracle was reported recently. In the last days of June, 1889, there appeared at the railroad station of Ancona a woman in mourning. She said she was to go to Rome but lacked the money to pay for her ticket. The train left the station but after a while it stopped. Though 5 more engines were added, it would not budge. A gentleman on the train, named Chev Morelli, thought of the black dressed lady who could not board the train at the station for the lack of the money to pay her fare to Rome. He went immediately to find her, and he offered to pay for it. He paid, in fact, 47 lires for a first class ticket to Rome. This the lady accepted under the condition that she travel alone. No sooner had the lady boarded the train, than it started up speedily, to the astonishment of all.

Chev Morelli, upon reaching Rome, wished to pay his respects to the lady. He went to the car where she had been seated. However, no one was there, and on the seat he found 2,000 lire in money and a note in golden letters, which read, "I am the Mater Dolorosa Virgin; and I wish to tell the sinners of the world that they must redeem themselves, believe in God and serve Him. Otherwise, a great calamity will soon befall Christianity."

His Holiness the Pope received a letter October 2nd, 1889 wherein it was stated that if in the future the people would not renounce the devil and all his work, mortifying all evils and corrupt dealings, and make solemn vows of proceeding daily in all virtue and godliness of living, they would be overcome by disaster. This Letter was sent by the Saviour, Christ. It mentioned the appearance of the Mater Dolorosa at Ancona. It declared that on the last Good Friday no visitors were seen at the Holy Sepulchre. It sid that people should remember the Day of Judgment, when the faithful shall enjoy the Glory of the Heavens and the ungodly shall be overwhelmed in a storm of snares, fire, brimstones, and bolts.

On July 2nd, 1889, when a terrible flood caused ruin, misery and appalling loss of life, the few survivors found in the many districts stricken by the disaster were in many cases in possession of the Sacred Letter.

One Giovanni Santarello who happened to be in France at the time of the earthquake, which made thousands of victims in the Southern Departments, was found buried alive under the wreck of a house after remaining in a deep anxiety four days and four nights. A copy of this Sacred Letter was found on him.

In commemoration of the apparition of the Mater Dolorosa Virgin in Ancoma, the people of the Township of Castelpetrosa, in the Province of Campobasso were so deeply shaken by the divine event that a great revival of worship was proclaimed and a pilgrimage was organized. At a meeting of the leading citizens, the clergy and authorities, it was resolved to build a great temple in honor of the Holy Virgin. On the day set for the laying of the cornerstone, a great gathering of bishops, priests, high church dignitaries and the laity, assisted by several hundred workmen, were ready to start the ceremony. Suddenly all tools, picks and shovels disappeared. To the spectators' terrified eyes appeared the Mater Dolorosa Virgin, who said: "Why are you digging this ground? Yonder, amid those beautiful woods, you will find the Sanctuary for your worship."

Speechless and confused the people beheld, as she vanished, the Virgin ascending to the heavens. A few days afterwards, three miles from Castelpetrosa, in the vicinity of the old Convent, three magnificent fountains were found beside a shrine decked with flowers and golden stars, seemingly erected by a divine hand.

On the solemn occasion of the last Pope's Jubilee, the Saviour, Christ, made His sudden appearance to the Pope, who was then on his throne, surrounded by cardinals, bishops and high dignitaries of the Church. The Holy Spirit spoke thus: "People of the world, forsake your sins or else the end shall soon be forthcoming!" Our Lord then disappeared. All present threw themselves at the feet of the Pope, beseeching pardon and clemency!

Hello Friends - Thanks for praying with us this past year. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and prayers to those who are in need. At this point, we ask that you please join us in giving thanks to God for 2005 and in welcoming 2006 with prayers for His Holy blessings.

Dear God,

As we approach the end of 2005, we thank You for all the wonderful blessings You have showered upon us. We thank You for protecting our family, for our health, and for the peace in our country. We thank You for Your unconditional love that continues to sustain us, despite our shortcomings. We know that You have blessed us, not according to what we deserve, but out of Your generous and deep love for us.

We love You, O dear God. We praise and glorify You. And we give thanks to You, our Almighty Father.

We ask that You continue to shower us with Your abundant blessings in 2006. We dedicate our lives to You, our dear God.

Grant us strength, wisdom and guidance to know and follow Your Holy Will. We pray that You guide us in our daily lives and open up opportunities for us to share Your love and blessings to others.

Almighty Father, we pray for the sick, the handicapped, the poor, and all the victims of abuse, war and calamities. Please heal them, help them, and comfort them. Our mother wanted to share this prayer to our beloved Pope John Paul II, which came to her one Sunday afternoon. While she was attending to her usual weekend chores, our mother felt a presence. The presence enveloped her...it overwhelmed her and she started to sob. Somehow, she remembered Pope John Paul II and felt that he was with her. She took a pen and a paper and started to write a prayer to John Paul II. The prayer simply flowed.

It seemed like an invisible hand was guiding her. When she finished the prayer, she made her own petition, asking Pope John Paul II to intercede for her and help her with a very tough business case.

The day after, to her delight, the problem received a positive resolution. She knew her prayer was answered! Our mother considered it a miracle and Pope John Paul II helped her!

Through this prayer, she started to ask Pope John Paul II for help on behalf of relatives and close friends who are ill and those who are experiencing major problems.
And each time, she receives positive signs.

Here's another case: A week ago, an aunt of ours suffered from internal bleeding and was rushed to the hospital. She fell gravely ill. My mom started praying the novena and just the other day, the doctors reported that the internal bleeding has stopped. We know that Pope John Paul II has interceeded for her.

At this point, we would like to share this special prayer with you. We believe that you too will experience miracles, through the loving power and intercession of Pope John Paul II.

Dear Friend,

Are you feeling tired or stressed out? Do you feel as if there isn't enough time in a day to finish everything you want done for that day? Do you sometimes feel like you're going around in circles, trying to do so many things during the day, and yet don't feel like you've really accomplished what truly matters most to you? Do you find yourself wondering, "where did the day (the week, the month, the year) go?"

If you answered yes to any of these questions, don't worry. You're not alone. We all have those days when we're busy with the "busy-ness."

I'm going to reveal to you a powerful way through which you can take better control of your day (and your life, overall). In fact, "control" is probably not the best word for it, because "control" is associated with a lot of effort.

You will find that using this method will require less effort on your part, yet you will be accomplishing more. And the best part is, you will find yourself accomplishing more and more of what truly matters in your life. This method helps you handle projects, problems and any other daily challenges with greater ease. It makes you move throughout the day with a stronger sense of purpose, and leaves you with the wonderful feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day.

Yes, you will feel totally empowered, inspired and powerful.

So how do you take better control of your day, and accomplish more with less effort?

The answer is really simple...

Before you start your day, spend a few minutes with God. Really talk to Him. Open your heart and mind to Him. Thank God for the wonderful new day. Praise God for His majesty and greatness. Offer your day to Him. Tell Him what you wish to accomplish that day and any problems you may have. Ask God to help you. Ask Him for strength, guidance and wisdom. Ask Him to help you find solutions to your problems and to introduce you to people who can help you. Ask Him to bless you with opportunities to help other people. Invite God into your life and allow Him to shine through you during the day. Pray that God's Holy Will be done through you.

At the end of each day, be sure to thank God for everything that transpired during the day, and offer your accomplishments (and even your pain) to Him.

If you follow this, and really connect with God throughout the day, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. You are afterall drawing strength from our Almighty Father who is the source of life and happiness. He is our Father who wants nothing else than true happiness for us, His children. Trust in God. Remember, nothing is impossible with Him.

I encourage you to start your day with God and end it with Him. In fact, as the new year draws closer, I encourage you to start 2006 with Him. Invite Him in everything you do, including setting goals for the following year.

When you do this, you are allowing God to work through you and with you. More than ever, you will feel the power and presence of God. And you will realize that, with Him, you truly can accomplish more and BE more -- for yourself, for your family, for others, and for God.

Give it a shot. It's simple and it's powerful.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying with us for the past several months. We are confident that God listens to all our prayers and answers them according to His Holy Will.

As you know, Hurricane Katrina has hit the US Gulf Coast and have caused catastrophic damages to the States of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Read stories here.

This is the worst natural disaster that has hit the US to-date.

While the hurricane has left, problems continue to escalate particularly in New Orleans where the people die of hunger, thirst, lack of medical aid and facilities. Babies are dying. The old and the sick are dying. People are living in filth and are desperately crying for help.

Rescue efforts are being made, but they remain insufficient.

We all know that prayers work miracles.

So please join us in praying for the victims and their families. Let us pray that the victims get the help they so desperately need soon. Let us pray that they continue to have faith in God and to have the strength to hang on. Let us pray that America rises to the occasion...for the people to come together to do whatever possible to help the victims and their families. Let us pray that the other nations too, could lend a helping hand. Every bit helps. Every prayer counts.

The damage is estimated to be about $25 Billion. Congress has approved $10.5 Billion today. But more is needed. We pray too that people find it in their hearts to make a little sacrifice and donate to the relief efforts. Through Jesus signs and miracles, His preaching and the gift of Himself through the Eucharist, Jesus transforms our lives, just as light transforms a darkened room.
The Rosary has been a means of bringing light into a darkened world since its use by the Dominican order to comban heresy in the thirteenth century.

As the Holy Father noted in his letter, the Rosary, especially with the additional mediatations on Jesus' compassionate and loving work in the world, can bring that same transforming light to a world darkened by "the seductions of the drug culture, the lure of an unbridled hedomism, the temptation to violence, and the manifold expressions of meaninglessness and despair" today (Rosarium Virginis Mariae, 42).

When we meditate on the Mysteries of Light, we fill the gap between the Joyful and Sorrowful mysteries, giving us a more complete encounter with Jesus, the Light of the World.

The Holy Father suggested that those who incorporate the Mysteries of Light, or Luminous Mysteries, into the praying of the Rosary use the following schedule:

Sorrowful Mysteries: Tuesdays and Fridays

Feast Day - August 11

Patroness of : good weather, embroiderers, goldsmiths, eye disease, needle workers, television, gilders, laundry workers.

"Clare was frail in physical health. Since 1224 she was always ill at San Damiano. Nevertheless her strong character and youthful spirit never left her. Whenever she was able she spun wool and even on her sick bed she kept herself occupied by embroidering altar linens for the local parishes.

Twice God saved San Damiano through the intercession of St. Clare. In September 1240 hoards of Saracen mercenaries attacked the walls of the monastery on their way to the city. Clare prayed before the Blessed Sacrament and suddenly for no explainable reason the Saracens retreated. A similar situation occurred when the troops of Vitalis d’Aversa attacked Assisi in June of 1241. Again her profound devotion to the Eucharist brought her before the Blessed Sacrament and again the city was spared.

Miracles were not unknown to St. Clare even during her lifetime. Olive Jars were filled after she blessed them. A very heavy door came off its hinges and fell on top of her, but when a number of sisters in a panic rushed to lift it off, instead of finding her crushed, she was not harmed at all and said it felt no heavier than a blanket. The sick were cured when she made the sign of the cross over them. At times when she meditated, the sisters saw a rainbow aura surrounding her.

One Christmas Eve she was too ill to rise from her bed to attend Mass at the new Basilica of St. Francis. Although she was more than a mile away she saw Mass on the wall of her dormitory. So clear was the vision that the next day she could name the friars at the celebration. It was for this last miracle that she has been named patroness of television."

History and Promises:

About the year 1628, the Discalced Carmelite Fathers of Prague received from Princess Polixena the statue of the child Jesus which was to become world-famous. The princess presented the statue to the priests with the prophetic words, "I give you what I prize most highly in the world. As long as you venerate this image, you shall not want."

Three years later the city of Prague was sacked by enemies of the Faith. The miraculous statue was seized and thrown carelessly into a heap of trash, and its hands were broken off during its fall. The statue was discovered later by Ven. Cyril of the Mother of God, O.C.D. (1590-1675).

One day he was praying before the statue when he heard the words, "Have pity on Me and I will pity you. Give Me My hands and I will give you peace. The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you."

Veneration of the Infant Jesus has resulted in graces, blessings and miraculous healings.

Feast Day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Three years ago my Mother-In-Law started a devotion to the Twin Hearts.
She invites families to pray to the Twin Hearts Novena (consisting of The Holy Rosary together with the prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
a brief litany of prayers, and a couple of songs).

The feedback from families who have welcomed the Twin Hearts into their home has been truly amazing.

These families report that they've received (and continue to receive) tremendous blessings - promotion at work, better jobs, stronger family ties, improved health, and more - all within the a few weeks after they pray the Twin Hearts Novena.

We will share the Twin Hearts Novena in a later post.
We will encourage the families to give us a slightly more detailed account
of the 'miracles' or blessings they've received.
We will share these stories in this blog.
So watch out for this feature!

We start with First Friday, honoring the Sacred Heart, and then comes the Feast of Immaculate Heart of Mary this Saturday.

The prayer to the Twin Hearts of Jesus and Mary (featured in this post) is a powerful prayer.

Our Parents shared this prayer and image with us when we got married, and we'd like to share them with you.

Dear Friend,

We have configured this template to enable anyone to post their prayers and prayer requests to this blog and even leave comments, suggestions.

You will notice that there is a "comment" link at the bottom of each post that enables you to do just that.

However, to make things even more convenient for everyone, we decided to dedicate specific pages as central repositories for prayers and prayer requests.

Of course, you are still free to add your comments, suggestions and questions to each post, but the dedicated pages will enable you to more easily access the prayers and prayer requests threads.

How do I share a prayer or post a prayer request?

If you wish to post a prayer go to Share A Prayer page. To request for prayers, go to Prayer Requests.
Scroll down and click on the comments link at the bottom of the post.
A new browser will open up that provides a form where you can type in your prayers.
Type in your prayer. Then click preview. If you're happy with the way it looks then click on to "Login and Publish" button.

If you wish to add another prayer, and click on the "comment" link again and repeat the process outlined above.

How can I format the text?

If you wish to use HTML tags to format your text, you are most certainly welcome to do so. If you're familiar with HTML, then go for it! On the other hand, if you are still a newbie (just like us), then we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the simple HTML tags. For a quick tutorial on HTML, you can go to HTML goodies. This page shows you how to use bold or italics tags.

How can I add pictures or audio files to my comments?

We haven't quite figured out how to enable posters to add their own pictures or embed an MP3 file within the comments box yet, but we're in the process of looking for ways to address this. (If anyone has any idea, please feel free to post your comments here).

So in the meantime, if you wish to add pictures, feel free to email the image to us and we'll be more than happy to upload them for you.

What types of prayers can I post?

You are free to post any type of religious prayer on Share A Prayer section. Feel free to give a background on the prayer -- it's origins, if known to you, or simply how it has made an impact on your life.

How can I make prayer requests?

Requesting for a prayer is simple. Simply go to Request For a Prayer section. Type in any petition/s you may have -- e.g. guidance in an upcoming exam, job interviews, good health, recovery from illness, discernment, financial blessings, birthdays, everyday need -- anything at all. Be as specific as possible -- to the extent that you're comfortable sharing details.

We encourage you to also pray for other people's intentions. It's one way of 'giving.' And as you know, the more you 'give,' the more benefits you 'receive.' That is a universal principle and is key to attracting blessings in your life.

Can I email the post to my friends?

Absolutely! Just click on the envelop icon beside the comment link. This will lead you to a form where you can fill in your friends' email address and a short message that will introduce the post.

The Lord's Prayer

Charles and Macey wanted to share their favorite prayer.

Charles has been praying this since he was three years old.

After praying, he would always raise his hands and cheer

"Heaven! Heaven! Heaven!"

This prayer always puts him in a good mood and on 'high gear' all day long!

Macey considers this her favorite prayer because, in her own words:

Yesterday, I found a copy of the Message from Our Blessed Mother to Carlos Lopez (a visionary from San Bruno, CA). It was on a piece of paper that my husband brought home from All Saints Church (Hayward, CA) last Sunday.

It was a beautiful message from Our Mother Mary, where She speaks of the power and importance of prayer in our lives.

I'd like to share the message to you all. It seems to be the best way to open the Prayers and Miracles Blog....

Our Lady of Grace

"Dear Children, praised be Jesus!

Thank you children for having accepted, with sacrifice, to pray with me this night; I love you and I give you my motherly blessing.

I come as the Mother of all sinners. I come sad at knowing that there are many who have not put into practice my past messages.

I desire to ask you for prayer, much prayer for the conversion of sinners. Prayer must be a joy for your souls, because by means of prayer, God gives you His infinite love. By means of prayer you unite yourselves with the angels of heaven in praising God.

Prayer transforms and renews your lives. Those who pray unite themselves more intimately with God. When you pray, you please God and God blesses you abundantly. Remember that prayer is joy because God listens and renews with His graces the hearts of His faithful ones.

When you pray, the door of your souls open like rosebuds to receive the graces of His peace.

Pray, pray, pray and decide always for prayer; in that way you will unite yourselves more with God. Prayer will bring you peace, the true peace which only God can offer you.

Rejoice at knowing that God is with you always. May prayer take root in your lives. Pray, pray, pray and all you ask for in prayer, with faith, will be given to you. Prayer, dear children, will always be the shield and the greatest strength to resist the temptations and the attacks of my adversary.

Pray, pray, pray and satan will flee from our lives. Thank you for having accepted my messages of this night. I give my motherly blessing to my beloved priests who helped me this night. And all of you, my little ones, I bless you and I fill you with many graces.

May the peace of God Almighty be always with all of you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

Our Blessed Mother said it all. Prayer protects us. Prayer transforms and renews our lives. When we pray with faith, all that we ask will be given to us.
