Prayers and Help for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying with us for the past several months. We are confident that God listens to all our prayers and answers them according to His Holy Will.

As you know, Hurricane Katrina has hit the US Gulf Coast and have caused catastrophic damages to the States of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Read stories here.

This is the worst natural disaster that has hit the US to-date.

While the hurricane has left, problems continue to escalate particularly in New Orleans where the people die of hunger, thirst, lack of medical aid and facilities. Babies are dying. The old and the sick are dying. People are living in filth and are desperately crying for help.

Rescue efforts are being made, but they remain insufficient.

We all know that prayers work miracles.

So please join us in praying for the victims and their families. Let us pray that the victims get the help they so desperately need soon. Let us pray that they continue to have faith in God and to have the strength to hang on. Let us pray that America rises to the occasion...for the people to come together to do whatever possible to help the victims and their families. Let us pray that the other nations too, could lend a helping hand. Every bit helps. Every prayer counts.

The damage is estimated to be about $25 Billion. Congress has approved $10.5 Billion today. But more is needed. We pray too that people find it in their hearts to make a little sacrifice and donate to the relief efforts. You can make your donation directly to the Red Cross (click here), or through your parishes.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

God bless you all. Keep safe.
